Pereira and Luckman, designers of the Transamerica building in San Francisco and the Kennedy Center completed this estate in 1949 for Dora Stillman, heiress to Chase Manhattan Bank and married to Hollywood playwright, Jody Hutchinson and played host to many as a temporary home away from home for the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Lucille Ball, and the entire “Rat Pack” to name a few. Seen recently in Mad Men and Californication the property rents out to TV & Film productions for up to a million dollars annually according to a recent article in the Los Angeles Times.
